How low is low rise
The waistband sits across the hips, well below the navel. Not a high-waisted brief pretending to be low, and not a string.
The leg opening follows the natural crease where the thigh meets the groin, so the line reads long rather than cropped. The front is a full contoured panel, so low rise does not mean less coverage where it counts.
If you have worn a standard swim brief and wanted the waist lower and the leg line longer, that is this cut.
Cheeky, bikini or brief
People search for all three and mostly mean the same shape. Here is where we land.
- Cheeky describes the back. Reduced coverage, cut to frame. That is the Essential.

We size on waist measurement, not a general S, M, L. Measure where the band will actually sit, across the hips rather than at your natural waist.
Between two sizes, size up for a more relaxed cheeky look or down for a closer one. Both cuts have inner drawstrings, so a little room at the waist is recoverable.
